Pro 1 Pico Dual Pass Technique
The Pro 1 Pico Dual Pass Technique combines full-coverage picosecond tattoo treatment with a second PicoMatrix™ precision remodeling pass when a provider wants to add a remodeling component to the treatment plan.
Two passes. Two different jobs.
Advanced tattoo removal does not always need more of the same energy. Sometimes it benefits from two different treatment interactions performed in sequence.
The Pro 1 Pico Dual Pass Technique is built around that idea.
The first pass uses conventional full-beam picosecond delivery to treat tattoo pigment across the complete treatment area. The second pass uses PicoMatrix™ precision remodeling to add a controlled remodeling component in selected cases.
Pass 1 — Full-beam picosecond
The first pass performs the primary tattoo-removal work.
Ultra-short picosecond pulses generate a strong photoacoustic effect within tattoo pigment. Wavelength selection is matched to the ink, with 1064 nm serving as the core wavelength for black and dark pigment and 532 nm extending treatment to red and other warm tones.
The objective is full treatment-area coverage and efficient pigment fragmentation.
Pass 2 — PicoMatrix™ precision remodeling
The second step changes the beam architecture.
PicoMatrix™ supports targeted remodeling protocols for texture, scars and advanced skin-quality treatments as a distinct second step in the treatment plan.
This means PicoMatrix™ is doing a different job from the first pass. It is not being used to replace full-field pigment targeting. It adds a fractional remodeling pathway to the overall treatment strategy.
Why the distinction matters
A fractional array intentionally treats microscopic points rather than the entire field. That makes it useful as a complementary step, but not as the primary tool for bulk tattoo clearance.
The Pro 1 Pico Dual Pass Technique keeps those functions separate:
Full beam = pigment coverage.
PicoMatrix™ = fractional remodeling.
That makes the protocol easier for clinicians to understand, teach, and reproduce without confusing the role of each handpiece.
Where the technique fits
The dual-pass approach is positioned for selected advanced tattoo-removal cases, including treatment plans where the provider wants to combine pigment fragmentation with fractional remodeling of the treated tissue.
It can also give clinics a differentiated premium protocol within a broader tattoo-removal program, alongside standard full-beam treatment, multicolour wavelength selection, PMU correction, and PicoMatrix™ scar or texture services.
Built into the same platform
Both stages are delivered from the Pro 1 Pico platform.
That means a clinic can move from standard tattoo-removal work into a more advanced combination strategy without introducing a second laser platform. The value is not simply another handpiece — it is a broader treatment architecture from the same system.

Does PicoMatrix™ replace the normal tattoo-removal handpiece?
