Model your treatment revenue.
Every platform has its own revenue calculator, built around that device's treatment menu. Pick the platform you are considering, select the treatments you plan to offer, and run the numbers with your own volumes and pricing.

How do you calculate the ROI of a laser machine?
Start with gross treatment revenue: treatments performed per week multiplied by the price per treatment, scaled to a month or a year. Set that against the cost of owning the platform over the same term — the monthly payment or purchase price, consumables, staff time and marketing. Revenue that clears those costs with margin is the return.
The calculators on this page model the revenue side with your own figures. The cost side is yours to add: the lease or purchase terms in your quotation, your consumable line, the staff hours each treatment takes, and what it costs you to fill the schedule. Payback is simply how many months of that net figure it takes to cover the platform.
What the inputs mean
- Treatments per week
- The number of treatments you expect to perform each week on that line — not patients, packages or sessions in a course. A client on a six-session hair-removal course counts once each week they are treated. Start with the appointments you can realistically fill in the first few months, not the capacity of the device.
- Price per treatment
- Your fee for one treatment on that line. The field opens on a labelled example — full-body laser hair removal on the DioLase Titanium, for instance, opens at $600 inside a $400–$900 band — and you should replace it with the price on your own menu.
- Estimated monthly and annual revenue
- Weekly revenue is the sum of treatments per week × price across the lines you selected; the calculator multiplies it by 4.33 for the month and 52 for the year. Both figures are gross revenue before any cost.
- What the output leaves out
- The equipment payment, consumables, staff time, room time and marketing — and the demand to fill the schedule. Two cost lines differ sharply by platform: the Pro 1 Pico has no per-pulse consumable cost, and articulated-arm CO₂ reduces reliance on disposable fibre components. Ask every vendor what a standard treatment costs in consumables before you compare quotes.
A quick way to read a result: set the monthly estimate beside the monthly lease entry point for that platform. In the dental payback guide's labelled example — the calculator's default of 2 frenectomies a week at $500 — one week of procedures ($1,000) exceeds the $799/month (OAC) entry-point payment on the Alexa CO₂ family. Your own fee schedule and case counts decide whether that holds for your practice. Every platform is quoted with clinical training, the 18-month warranty and free standard shipping within Canada on a new device, so the payment buys a service you can sell on day one.
Common questions
- Does the calculator show profit or revenue?
- Gross treatment revenue only. It multiplies the treatments you expect to perform each week by the price you set for each one, then scales the total to a month and a year. Operating costs, the equipment payment, consumables, staff time and marketing are not deducted, so read the result as the revenue side of the business case and set your own costs against it.
- Where do the default prices and volumes come from?
- They are labelled example bands, pre-filled so the model is not empty when you open it, and every one is editable. Tattoo removal on the Pro 1 Pico, for instance, opens at $300 inside a $150–$600 band; a frenectomy on the Alexa CO₂ Dental opens at $500 inside $300–$900. Replace them with your own fee schedule and your realistic weekly counts before you trust the total.
- How do I compare the result with a lease payment?
- Compare monthly with monthly. Lease-to-own entry points run from $499/month (OAC) for DPL Elite and $599/month (OAC) for DioLase Titanium to $799/month (OAC) for the Alexa CO₂ family and $999/month (OAC) for Pro 1 Pico, varying by configuration and term. If the estimated monthly revenue clears the payment with room for consumables, staff time and marketing, the platform is paying from the revenue it generates.
- Why is there a separate calculator for each platform?
- Because a revenue model only means something against a specific treatment menu. Each calculator lists only the treatments its platform supports — 20 on the Pro 1 Pico, 9 on the Alexa CO₂ Dental — so the number you get is anchored to the device you would actually buy, not to a generic laser. Pick the platform you are considering and model that one.
